Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Her music is classified as folk and alternative rock but has additional influences from hip hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco, who is widely known as the feminist's icon, and Grammy award-winning musician is widely regarded as to be the father of DIY music. She was one of the very first musicians to start her own label in the year 1990. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian heritage, and her mother was born in Montreal. 32 Flavors was written and performed by Ani DiFranco.
